Pleasant

Unlike some years when we really get into the spirit of Halloween, no one here in the house on Tennessee Avenue felt like passing candy last night. We switched off the lights in the front of the house, gathered the dogs in the kitchen, drank wine, ate pasta, and watched TV.

It was so nice! Peaceful and pleasant, just the ticket.

Happy All Souls Day!

That does sound nice! I drank wine and watched "Shaun of the Dead," which I suppose is a kind of Halloween movie. (I should have mentioned that in my post!)

Jeff and I did the same thing, although our menu consisted of left-over corn chowder and roasted butternut squash cubes. I think my entire block took a pass on Halloween, which is rare because there are usually at least ten people outisde in lawn chairs ordering pizza, drinking wine, and making all the over-18 trick-or-treaters sing, dance, tell jokes, or otherwise earn their candy (don't worry - we're typically nice to the young ones!). Seems like lots of folks weren't in the Halloween spirit this year. I wonder why?

My guess? It's too close to the election. We're already so rattled, who needs any more excitement?

The lovely Mrs. Sneed and I went out for a bit and when we got home, the kids were still coming to the door.

Halloween is a favorite holiday of mine but this year was very low key, even among the children at school. Low key but still enjoyable and relaxing.

Your evening sounds wonderful.
