The weather predicts my mood, again

I love this snap taken yesterday of Kim, a blog friend who is now a "real" friend, and me at the Portrait Gallery.

It's rainy, foggy, dreary and damn humid in Washington DC again today. The mosquitoes are biting like maniacs, the air smells a bit moldy, there is no sign of Brother Sun's beautiful light anywhere. Yuck!

What's it to me? I have a full day of clients ahead so I'll be mostly indoors until 6:00. After that I'll walk the circuit around Lincoln Park, though the weather is hardly inspiring me to do so.

I could continue to grump, but I won't.

Instead I'll set up the massage table, light candles, sprinkle lavender essential oil on the clean sheets, and queue up some nice music to help my clients relax. Focusing on the landscapes of my clients' bodies will help shift my attention away from the soupy non-day ongoing outside the chateau.

Happiest Friday to all. May the broom of weather sweep the humidity out of the air sooner rather than later, may it be so! I am hankerin for fall, I really am!

You and me both. Wednesday I got in my car, which had been sitting in a parking lot for two hours, and the temp read 107! I am so done with this heat but at least we don't have humidity. I'll focus on that.

I'd love to stroll around the portrait gallery with you :)

Holy cow!

Next time you're here, Jeanette, let's go look at art together, and take pictures. It's really fun!

I was goign to take today off from work, but boss looked kind of pitiful yesterday so I told him I'd come in anyway. I was feeling smug & sanctimonious this morning until I opened the back door to walk out to my car. Pouring rain. Grump. LOVELY commute. Sigh.

On the other hand, a couple of things on my to-do list at home wouldn't have gotten done in the rain anyway, so I might as well be at work :)

We certainly could use some sunshine around here to dry up all this humidity. It has been a very odd September this year. And I'm saying "odd" to be nice. Oh well, maybe the leaves will be brighter next month as a result.

Thanks Laura! They suggested that people take snapshots in the exhibit, then forward them to the Flikr account. I haven't checked it out but I'm going to.

Raining like a mo fo out there right now.

But

what's it to me??

Massage sounds like the perfect way to spend a day like that -- either giving or receiving! (I hope you get a good massage now and then, Reya!)

Have a great weekend Reya.Oh how I would love to do the Washington galleries and exhibitions with you, or look more closely at those amazing sculptures, grasping the historical context also.
As time and finances permit, I can now only consider visiting parts of the world I haven't been to before. Washington for me was in 1979 - not half as much fun as seeing it through your eyes.
Keep up the wonderful photographic adventures - I feel like I'm tagging along giving everything the big thumbs up.

ah, you'd love it here in the midwest, where the days are pleasantly warm and nights are cool. Perfect for taking long hikes in the woods. Nice to see you and Kim together!

Tom I grew up in the midwest! I do miss it sometimes, I really do.

Pam, you and I live as far apart as possible, unless one of us moved to another planet. Maybe I'll make it to Australia sometime, wouldn't that be fun?

I can't imagine how great it would be to put our heads together in one location. It would be epic!
