Watch out for the Kryptonite

The weather has completely turned, and though I'm certain we will see more cold, raw, early spring days, winter is definitely done. Today Brother Sun will bring the thermometer up to 65 F. Ahhhh ... that's almost warm!

Naturally I am feeling overambitious, as befits a sparkling early spring day. My to do list goes on and on. And on.

According to the cosmology of Reya, springtime overambitiousness is a natural reaction to the upwards surging energy of spring. It is so strong today that I feel kind of superhero-ish. Where did I put my cape and funny mask? Where are my tights?? TODAY I WILL SAVE THE WORLD! Err ... or ... maybe not. But maybe I'll get the laundry done, the groceries purchased, and my room cleaned. Maybe the dogs will get a super-long walk, maybe I'll take some nice pictures, maybe I'll make a spinach salad after I meet my friend for a martini.

It's probably enough, isn't it? I mean, if I'm only able to "save" my little corner of the world today? It's OK not to be a superhero, right? Yes? I say yes.

I closed down a house and then raked for hours. Definitely a surge going on out there.

Yes, save your corner!
Secure your homebase, and then take on the world. You will probably find your cape in the process.

Yeah, I'm sure my cape is buried underneath a pile of papers. Back now to battling the demons of dirt in my room!

That list sounds like Super Effort enough!
Here we're having a cold snap to keep us from getting too excited by the longer days. It's no longer dark out when I go to work, but it's still too damned cold.

It is an energizing change, isn't it? I'm sitting here with the sliding glass door open, enjoying 60-plus temperatures. (And the dogs are on the balcony!)

Geez. Here in northern New Mexico, 65 degrees IS warm. And we're still a ways off from that.

It's almost 50 here in Michigan - shirtsleeve weather! And it's got me itching for a road trip.

There is a lot of spring in your steps today!

Yes, California girl - that's Kim Y. Are you on facebook? She posted a pic of me taking the second pic. Oh wait. It's on her blog, too.

I'm feeling it too, thank goodness! Giving birth and trying to adjust to having an infant in the house again has completely sapped my energy. This warm front is exactly what I needed to feel like myself again!

The long walk and the pictures and meeting up with your friend sound wonderful. The laundry and dust and such will still be there when the rain comes in tomorrow night.

Being a superhero has to be exhausting! I think I'd rather be me, especially now that spring has sprung. Enjoy that surge of pep and vigor!

Or, you could have dos martinis and skip the salad.

Spinach salad and martini? You are *my* superhero. :)

Reya Mellicker said...

Laura let's get together soon for salads and martinis, eh? Yes? I say yes.

Ronda, it turned out to be two martinis. Now I'm baking chicken, which I'll serve with french fries and asparagus ... spinach salad perhaps tomorrow.

I need some of that energy. I have been trying to get some organizing and spring cleaning done and have accomplished very little. But I have been sick and sleeping for hours and hours each day. Today is the first day in a few weeks where I actually got up and cooked some soup. Maybe tomorrow I will actually do some more organizing or cleaning, other than the dishes and laundry.

I need to get things done soon or it will just get put off again until who knows when. Too much stuff is not good. I just look at it and give up. I need to make a bigger pile for the Goodwill.

Enjoy the sunshine, out here 65 degrees is a cold day. But I love cold days better than hot days. And I am sick of being hot all the time while in menopause. Summers are miserable out here, love spring though.

God bless.

i feel like going to bury my "stay at the laptop and finish my essay" superhuman cape under a pile of leaves and then running of to enjoy the autumn sunshine with the dogs.
