Turning the Corner

Whatever it was, the moon or the aftermath of Prince Charming's visit, or some internal fluxuation - whatever that mood was, just like the moon, it has turned. I'm back to my usual frame of mind, i.e. philosophical (as opposed to recent themes of depression and grumpiness). What a relief.

There really is no such thing as stuckness, is there? Everything moves, even the foulest of moods. Stuckness is a perception that accompanies discomfort and the resulting impatience. I felt stuck over the weekend, but it was just another phase after all. Go figure.

When I'm unhappy or in pain or feeling depressed I want to DO something to "make" it change. I breathe and OMMM, pray, walk hard until I break a sweat, or pour myself into a task that guarantees instant gratification, like cleaning my room or doing the very best massage I possibly can.

So there's a way in which I benefit from my periodic bouts of moodiness, and frankly, so do my clients. When I'm depressed, I double up on good deeds and self care. Of course it's never helpful when I act out my mood in relationships with others, but I think I mostly avoided bad behavior this time around. I was snarky but avoided picking a fight, so no harm done.

When looked at from this perspective, I must admit that a freaky full moon that kicks my ass is a "good" thing after all. I wonder if I'll be able to remember this the next time? Hmmmm.

"...everything moves, even the most foulest of moods". How true."This too will pass" has served me well over the years.Beautiful lavender Reya. Sometimes I will search for ages for the right flower for a pot, forgetting about this fragrant bee-attracting plant. It's often just the thing, looking stunning in place!

This lavender bush is huge. In a couple of weeks it will become a lavender forest complete with white butterflies and lots of bees. I saw a couple of them when I snapped the pic but you can't see them in the photo.

you were stuck in the doldrums...nothing much to do, but wait for the wind to change and set you back on course. Lovely lavender...

Who could blame you? What is yours will come to you, Reya. You have a truly lovely energy. At least that is how you strike me, any way.xx♥

Happy you have moved on.......sometimes the best thing is a big ole' handful of that Lavender.....scrunch up a bunch of flowers in your hands and inhale deeply........nothing like the smell of Lavender to set you right.

(would it bother your allergies?)

The lavender and ivy are both just luscious. Glad that old devil moon is begining to wane!

Such is life, the pull of the moon, the tides, frame of mind. It all ebbs and flows, doesn't it?

Things have shifted for me, too. The moon and the rains that accompanied her have done wonderful things for my mandala garden. And for my internal garden as well.

luscious looking lavender. Ours is starting to bloom too. Lavender and grumpiness just don't mix, do they?

Glad to read you're feeling better. It's almost enough to make feeling bad a good thing, huh? (Almost.) :-)

Yeah almost, mum.

And yes I have been snorting lavender like crazy. The smell is divine, almost unbelievably good. Is there anyone who dislikes the smell of lavender? Can't imagine!

Glad to hear that you've turned the corner...and can look at the moon within the sun/moon reflection of a green leaf (remarkable photo, Reya!)And if Prince Charming gets you "a mood" I hope he is worth it. Love to you <3
btw -are you able to post a comment on OWL blog? It's acting crazy lately...I just posted a reply comment in time...then it says "abort operation" -I feel like cyberspace has become a bit like the movie 2001...isn't that the one where Harold the master computer takes over? hum...maybe it's the full moon? <3

Loved the lavender picture. I understand it is self-seeding, keeping itself alive for a long-long time. A bit like thoughts.

I think the computer is Hal.

I did post a comment yesterday, Cynthia. I'll try again right now.

It must have been a powerful moon cycle, perhaps because of the upcoming eclipse energy. I was in a grump yesterday and that rarely happens.

Hi Reya, thanks for leaving a comment. Now I know that others are not having my computer problem...at least you! The post came from an automatic directory service-uninvited! Strange. It's like facebook and friend request...somehow the automatic function took over and subordinated my Moon post. I just left it there because a couple of people, one from France and another from India found me through the link. (Sometimes the internet servers have good ideas so I thought I'd let it go on to see what happens.) Oh the computer is called Hal- my own Prince Charming looked it up in our DVD collection...a place that is forever under re-re-reorganization and I can never locate a specific movie. When I want to watch a movie, I just reach in a section, pull out a group and look for something that 'feels right'. Imagine that system!! I don't know how he can locate a movie...do you remember that game of cards-concentration...I think it's a bit like that...hold the location in your mind, memorize it, and put it back...okay enough moon bashing rambling here! <3

Cynthia Pittmann said...

ha, I just saw that you wrote the name of the computer...good memory. I read your comment in my forwarded comments (email)-have you ever had this computer problem?

Reya Mellicker said...

That's exactly how I choose movies.

Glad you are on the upswing. Moods just come over us. I'll wake sometimes in a crappy mood for no apparent reason. I try not to talk to people when that happens. When I get like that I just figure all my bio-rhythms have swung down at the same time. Eventually one or more will swing up and I'll be in a better frame of mind.

great news on the corner turning! That lavender is just absolutely gorgeous, and I would be snorting it too, if I were there! Will have to make do with aromatherapy oils instead x

Very true that everything moves, especially moods. Any moodiness I encounter often goes instantly at the remembered thought of something that pleased me.

The photo of the lavender is perfect for the post, Reya. As the scent of lavender soothes one's mind and senses.

I like "snarky." I think it keeps one interesting, like a little bit of salt in something sweet. Will you remember the lesson next time? I know I probably wouldn't figure it out until I was just about through the process.

To Cynthia: I have seen that "Operation Abort" message on a few sites the last month. I can't get in and them am booted out. If I go back in several times or at a later time, I will eventually get there. One blogger got rid of the problem by changing his template.

Glad you are doing better and the bad tide has gone back to sea. Can't help but marvel again at your photos!

Your lavender is very EARLY
so glad you are feeling better
how impossible it is to realise that you will feel different
in a little while when you are feeling something NOW!

Yes, things change.
Thank heavens
much love

weird or what?!

That's a very good point, Reya. I think bad moods probably do have a purpose, if only to restore our perspective. I'm glad you're feeling more "normalized"!

Those are some good thoughts on moodiness. So glad to hear you're feeliong better!

i loved the thought of an early morning thunderstorm. we are experiencing our first cold front and your lavender bush makes and excellent counter moment to a morning filled with silver skies, ocher leaves and wet black tree trunks.

i recently realised that i feel most at home in a foul mood as it provides me with something to "process". those light good moments leaves my internal monkey a bit unmotivated :)

Lovely picture. And the rationale behind the post was just as wonderful. Sometimes we 'want' to get stuck. Yup, human being, huh? We're a funny bunch.

Greetings from London.

There is lavender growing in the office next to ours, and I often go out and pick a bud, and it does help calm. I did that for a fellow employee recently and she looked at me as if to say "This won't work"...well, then it won't...will it
