Fear Not

Life is a tragedy for those who feel
A comedy for those who think.
*

Of course we had to order Chinese food for dinner last night. Did you see the opening to the Olympics? WOW. I was lucky to get to see it on one of those huge flat screen HD TV's, making the cinematics even more so.

The sporting events won't be of much interest to me. I always get caught in the stories of the people who don't win. For heaven's sake. Must continue to work on releasing my tendency towards codependence, clearly. But the opening ceremony?? Wow.

*From my fortune cookie. Great fortune, isn't it? I laughed out loud, which probably means I was thinking rather than feeling at the moment. Hmmm.

That IS a great fortune, though I'm not sure it's technically a fortune. :)

Is it codependent to get caught up in the stories of those who don't win? I always have trouble watching contests because I hate to see anyone lose. And stand-up comedy makes me so incredibly nervous because I'm afraid the comedian is going to bomb. Does that mean I'm codependent? (I've never been clear on what codependent means!)

Someone told me today that the opening ceremony was spectacular . . .

Codependence is when I wish I could do something to help the people who lose. For heaven's sake! They're serious athletes, prepared for losing as well as winning. And, it's none of my business.

Stand up comedians, by and large (there ARE exceptions) can be so mean yet so needy at the same time. My sister is one of the exceptions - an excellent stand up, yet neither mean nor needy. So is Ellen.

I'm sure some of the opening ceremonies are already on youtube. If there's a re-broadcast, do not miss it! It was truly spectacular.

definitely not your typical fortune!

I do wonder if there was a rise in chinese food consumption last night...

we pushed pizza night up to friday this week.... one was potato-artichoke mozzarella and the other spinach, crimini mushrooms and goat cheese.... not a hint of chinese flavors...

did catch a bit of the extravaganza on the 10 inch kitchen tv was pretty spectacular, that was probably it for olympic viewing for me....
