Flu-like symptoms

I'm a bit under the weather today. I parked myself on the sofa, spent the day there, reading mostly.

I didn't clean.
I didn't cook.
I didn't work (had to cancel some clients).
I didn't walk around.
I didn't take any pictures which was OK since it was lightly raining off and on.

But I guess no matter what, I blog. So be it. Shalom.

When I try to explain to people what a herxheimer reaction is I say it's flu-like symptoms. For recovery a Lyme patient goes through hours of flu-like symptoms. The worst of these was nausea. There is no way I could focus on life when that was there. It is the body's reaction to die off and toxins. The killing of spirochetes releases toxins. My friends who have battled cancer had to endure the nausea from chemo. Sometimes I would listen to Jon Kabat Zinn's meditations for cancer patients while lying on the floor of my office to ease the relentless nausea from antibiotics and herxing. I would breathe from my toes up into my legs into my thighs and back and shoulders to the crown of my head. Sometimes I would not be nauseous and drift into sleep. There is nothing worse than prolonged nausea. But sometimes I think it is a sign, something poisonous is being released, will be filtered slowly by the hepatocytes, the alphabet toxins broken into hyphens and flushed out of the body. Like the exodus when the sea rushes in a drowns the Romans. Release.

I could just lose myself in that sidewalk photo, in the same way I'd lose myself in good illustrations in books as a child.
Hope you feel better soon Reya. When the body demands rest, best to take heed.xx

Hope you feel better, Reya. Maybe you just overdosed on allergens while watching the space shuttle. :)

I’m not sure where you are getting your info, but good topic. I needs to spend some time learning much more or understanding more. Thanks for excellent information I was looking for this info for my mission.

Adelina, part of my training in therapeutic massage involved working clinically with people suffering from a wide range of maladies. Each of us chose a disease or disorder, researched and then presented what we learned to the class. At the beginning of every presentation what we heard was "this syndrome/disease/disorder begins with flu-like symptoms."

You wouldn't believe how many things start this way!
