Echoes

I'm a psychic. So what? So are you. I don't believe that label means I possess "extra" sensory perception, just as I don't believe in a "super" natural world. If it's happening, it's natural, right? I say yes. What being a psychic means to me is that I've practiced tuning in to what one of my teachers referred to as "the subtle energies" and worked to develop a language with which to describe when I'm perceiving.

Everyone reading this post has had the experience (at the very least) of hearing the phone ring and knowing who is calling, or thinking about someone who, "coincidentally," shows up a few minutes later. You know what I'm talking about, right?

It's just another one of our incredible gifts, this ability to tune in on a frequency that allegedly does not exist in the normal range of sensory capacity, or so say those who believe in a rational world. Just like having a knack for woodworking or playing the guitar, perceiving the subtle energies is an art that can be developed. If you don't practice, it will come in fits and starts, but if you do practice, over time, you will get better, just like with any art. I don't tend to make a big deal about being a psychic these days. It just is.

Well except for yesterday. I'd had a very detailed dream the night before that turned out to be a true dream, down to almost every detail. Even for an old school psychic like myself, sometimes these experiences are stranger than fiction. Shook me up a little bit, I'll admit it. (Imagine here the theme music to The Twilight Zone.)

We know so much more than we are able to admit. All I can say is: wow.

Wow is right. It is amazing when that happens. I hope you were able to help someone with the knowledge. I have found that some will believe while others will just think you are crazy. Not much you can do about it, and it is their loss. Sad sometimes in what they miss out on, but such is life.

God bless.

I've never understood the attitude that if we couldn't measure it, quantify it then it doesn't exist mentality.

I think if I would devote a little more time to meditating instead of running around like a chicken with my head cut off I'd have more luck tuning in to those subtle energies...

My friend Jill and I had a friend we could summon on the telephone by saying "Ruth Whitesides....Ruth Whitesides......" (her name!)
It always worked.....
we didn't use the phone -- just energy.....

I had a tremendously long dream last night where everything -- places etc rooms led to different places than they were meant to.
I did not like it at all, and it took ages to shake off...
other than that, we are having a dog- people beer/wine/ strawberry/dip bash on the roof here tonight
wish you could join us

Seems that you have finely tuned that which most of us ignore, we don't trust it until it hits us hard- like consistently dreaming of people only to find out within two days that person has passed.Happens to me a lot so I am careful to not say who was in my dream...Freaks people out.

i wonder if there is a big code book sitting on a shelf somewhere that explains exactly how our world works...and step by step instructions. Well, maybe, but who could read it?

A very dear friend once told me to "own it"... very sound advice from someone I greatly admire.

Reya, I absolutely LOVE your profile photo! Those silver-blue locks, WOW!
I want hair like that in due time!
(Just wanted to let you know that this picture of you caught my attention while reading Ronda's Blog.)

Now, let me take a look at what you're up to here... ;)

reya i depend on intuition, prescience, and insight. especially the unexplainable kind. i depend on them because they're as real as this version of knowing is! i think there's so much "noise" in the lives of people that the subtle, oddly shaped, strangely presented version of this place is easily ignored. go with it i say!!! steven

Love this post -- and the final image is perfect.

Elizabeth, me too!

Whitney: Reality check: you are the mother of two small children. You have no alternative other than running around like a chicken with her head cut off. There will be time for all this later on.

Mrsupole, the dream is actually intended to help me! Wow. So yeah I'm going with it.

Steven you always say everything perfectly. Blows me away!

reya--follow your dreams? ;-) isn't it amazing when that connection happens? It makes me extend the boundaries of what is here and there--c

Reya, what you had was a lucid dream. Sometimes the powers that be decide when the time is right to provide such a dream to a person.

As for everyone being psychic, that's true too. It just depends on how receptive a person is willing to be. For some it's ridding themselves of the dogma they've been immersed in throughout this life and previous lives.

I hope it was a good dream.

I am as happy for you, as for myself, if and when this sort of thing occurs. Unfortunately for me it's rare, but such a buzz because of the infrequency. Just wish it would happen more in the good sense, so congratulations Reya! I don't seem to "tune in", but rather get taken by suprise and a sense of wonder. I enjoy reading of your experiences.

I love the "Why not?" signage.
Also, I agree with Whitney Lee about the need to meditate more... at least to make time for it.

Love the idea of being taken by surprise and then feeling the wonder.

You know that still happens to me, even after all these years of practice. Tuning in a kind of a miracle.
