Zzzzzzzzzzz

The window at Groovy DC

Is there anything better than a good night's sleep? I can't imagine. Normally I toss and turn, wake up frequently. I am a hyper vigilant sleeper. Sometimes my sleep is so light, I call it "fake sleeping."

Was it the nice massage I received yesterday? Or my productive afternoon cleaning my room, running errands, or the fact that I avoided turning on the television for a change? Whatever the reason(s), last night I slept so deeply I failed to hear my roommates come home (they were out late at a party). That never happens. The window above my bed faces the front of the house so I hear everyone coming and going. At least - usually I do.

Not last night. Last night I didn't wake up the moment Jake decided to get up on the bed with me, (happens every night usually around 3:00 or 4:00 a.m.) I didn't even dream, as far as I can tell.

Can't remember the last time I slept so well. Delicious!

I always sleep fantastically well after a massage. I highly recommend it!

I'm so glad you slept soundly! I'm a "hyper-vigilant" sleeper, too, and so know exactly what you mean about the usual fits and starts. Sleeping soundly through the night is a rare treat for those like us - delicious, indeed!

In other news, I'm tagging you for a meme today because I am genuinely interested in what your responses would be. However, your participation is purely optional - do it only if and when you feel so inclined.

I rarely sleep through the night, although I wish I could.

Glad you had sleep like that Reya!I think deep sleeps without even dreams is like being in a meditative place with no thoughts at all, so replenishing. Your pictures stay with me all day, and now I always look for reflections :)

I like the window image--very layered/dreamy. :)

I have a post with an Xmas window scheduled for later today - not like yours, but a bit of synchronicity. I thought I was looking at fireworks or a roller coaster as it unscrolled down my screen.

I have had trouble with being a light sleeper, an at times have felt strangely virtuous on getting a good night's sleep - like the boy in the nursery rhyme who "pulled out a plum and said what a good boy am I."

You fake sleep, too? Monday night I faked all night and woke up feeling like a truck hit me. Last night was great, though. I love when I can at least sleep six straight hours. It feels glorious.

Oh, and EXTRA cool new profile piccie, BTW! :^)

Yeah, fake sleep. I'll be laying there in bed thinking, "I'm sleeping. Yep. I'm sleeping."

Sure I am! Like hell !!

Sweet dreams to all you light sleepers out there. Maybe we should get together sometime and play cards or something.

When my first baby was small and never slept, I got up and ironed and she watched me. Teaching her to play cards would have been an option too, now that you mention it!

I am obsessive about light at night. Exposure to blue spectrum light shuts off your body's production of melatonin. (produced by the pineal gland - behind your third eye)
This messes up your sleep patterns. I HATE fake sleep and get so grumpy and unpleasant when i don't sleep well. Too much night light, not a good thing. A candle is fine, though.

I love to sleep if only to dream. I fall asleep as soon as I close my eyes, but these days I always wake up at 3 or 4 for 30 minutes or so. I'm been making lots of spicy food lately and so my dreams are deliciously intense!

I like the peace sign at groovy and have been trying to figure out how to make one for this year's holiday decoration - and this pic has given me a good idea on how to construct it....this time of year I'm trying to make something every day!

Isn't a good night's sleep terrific? I've been waking up every morning at 3:30 a.m. Very strange. I lie around for about an hour and then go back to sleep.

Hi! I just found your blog and was scrolling through, I love the photographs you take, such a fresh perspective! I wanted to know if you'd mind if I used your "Do Something" photo as a label on my blog for a "Do Something-day" type thing. Happy New Year! ginger.dail@ GMAIL
