Doing well, though. I'm in a fine humor, having great dreams in which, for instance, I'm leading a spiral dance or George Clooney is my boyfriend. It's unusual for me to be so quiet. Kind of nice.
Rebecca I'm certain that these DC trees have relationships with your W. Virginia trees. Don't you think that birds carry the gossip from one tree community to the next? I do. Are the trees whispering, "Rebecca - shouldn't you come to DC for a visit?" ...
I think they are!
Vanill and Lynne - Rapunzel is one of my favorite fairy tales. I've studied it extensively - in original versions, especially the French translations, the "evil witch" was really a very good fairy who made a mistake by making Rapunzell 'too" beautiful. She feared for her safety which is why she built the tower of silver and gold in which lovely Rapunzel had every kind of refined activity - dancing, playing instruments, painting, spinning, weaving, embroidery. The good fairy did everything she could to keep lovely Rapunzel amused, though it was her incredible singing voice that caught the attention of the prince.
OK I'll admit that the good fairy wasn't so nice to the lovely couple, once she figured out what was going on ...
The house is on 11st Street beteen N. Carolina and Independence Ave. SE - very cool in so many ways. Maybe I'll sneak closer and take a couple more pics.
it looks to me as if the house at any moment now will part the two branches and break into some kind of joyous 'look at me' type of song. it is raining hard, but very warm up on reypod. i grabbed the two showercaps. fancy a naked raindance, without ruining your hairdo?
I'm not sure where George figures into it, but I can see that house pulling away the trees like some elegant lady at a dance fluttering her fan and then revealing her beauty and breaking into son. Or maybe it's George doing the same...

I love this image, it has such a look of fairy tale about it. Was there perhaps a girl with long golden hair leaning from the upper window? :-)
Enjoy the quiet - it is good for the soul - as you know :-)
The tree is either showing its love for the house or holding it prisoner. I'm not sure which.
I know tho, that you don't feel like a prisoner and are enjoying your seclusion. Snuggle in for our stormy weekend weather!
Your trees are really speaking to me these days. Odd, isn't it--my trees outnumber the people here, but I'm looking at your D.C. trees...hmmm.

well there was a kite eating tree in charlie brown's comics and it appears that on 11th street there are some house eating trees. crazy image.
leading a spiral dance an excellent image to carry one through these darkening days!
clooney, eh? most interesting
what a fab picture! are they very very shy people who live there? or in denial about living in the city?
the George Clooney dream sounds rather tempting
What an amazing house!
Glad to hear you're enjoying some quiet hibernation. Vanilla is right -- it IS good for the soul. :)
Pod - a raindance wearing shower caps with you?
Y. E. S. !!!
I like the trees almost embracing the house.
hurrah! we can pretend to be turkeys too when we do the spiral dance. did you know they symbolise that?

Turkeys symbolize the spiral dance? Please explain!
I'm not sure where George figures into it, but I can see that house pulling away the trees like some elegant lady at a dance fluttering her fan and then revealing her beauty and breaking into son. Or maybe it's George doing the same...
please remind me to elaborate on the turkey comment. all my books are packed away whilst i move
