Lunacies

Usually so elusive, my Very Strange sister Luna posed for the camera last night.

I had no vivd dreams last night. But the influence of the full blood moon is still palpable. What a moon! Though crazy-making (as the full moon almost always is), I've enjoyed this year's blood moon. You never know about our silvery sister in the sky. Her most prominent attribute is her changeability. Under some moons I flop around. This moon? I'm perhaps a bit too giddy for my own good, but at least I'm having fun.

If I had time, I could write a big ole post about the moon. But it's a crazy day for me today between working, preparing for a quick nip out of town, and attending one of the Literary Feast dinners here in my village of Capitol Hill tonight.

Perfect that under the full blood moon my day will be insanely busy; also perfect that the book theme for the dinner party I'm attending is Alice in Wonderland. I'm down the rabbit hole, y'all. Catch you on the flip side (Wednesday or Thursday).

Cheers!

Artemesia, associated with the moon. Part of the wormwood family, artemesia is the main ingredient in absinthe. It figures, doesn't it?

In costume? And which are you pray tell?

The moon appeared on the horizon, yellow, and became whiter as it moved overhead. Stunning! Love to see the moon in DC! Have fun at your party.

Ooh, came across this perfect quote for the Full Hunters Moon (h/t HDD)

I would rather be crazy and unrealistic if realistic means accepting the conditions that are leading to the destruction of the Earth and so many of Her peoples. ~Starhawk

Similarly, it's keen that this lunation is at ARI 29 deg. It's a propitious time for amoral fence straddlers to get clear about their intentions to themselves and others. "I was just taking orders" doesn't cut it, especially if, while mucking out the last corners of stall, one has one's own recent sacrificial rite still running in the background. Through the looking glass, indeed.

Salut!

our moon was blood red last night because of all the smoke haze from recent fires! like two opposing sunsets - amazing; then so so bright. We are hoping it brings a change in the weather - rain...i think its on its way. Enjoyed your last post too about the laughter therapy - so so true!

I have been having vivid dreams. I am thrilled that I can attribute it to the moon.

What a moon time it was. Animals howled in the woods, and when I went for a walk (in the woods at my home of 22 years), I got lost----the path was gone, so I turned around and hot-footed it back the way I came.
Great idea for a dinner party fundraiser. Hope it was as wonderful as it sounds.

I've been under a heavy load of stress lately and as the moon has grown full, I've felt myself change. Last night it hit a fevered pitch when I confronted someone I loved, I put my feelings out there. Whatever the outcome, I slept like a queen and hardly moved a muscle in my sleep. I feel cleansed and whole again.

I love how Luna is dancing with that spired roof. Do they have a thing going on?
