The gloom persists over Washington DC, but believe it or not, I don't feel like complaining. Sunday and yesterday, the sound of the rain provided the most sublime backdrop for my work. A beautiful sunny couple of days might have brought up in me a sense that I should be outside rather than working, but there was none of that.
This morning, because it's still cool and gloomy out there, I'm going to sit right here on my couch, read blogs and drink coffee. I can't imagine a more relaxing way to spend a couple of hours. Can you?
Sounds like a great way to spend a rainy day! I'm jealous! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's what rainy days are for. Peace.
ReplyDeleteI think that's a great way to relax. I'm doing it right now; although I'm waiting for my coffee to finish dripping! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I feel like doing all day today. Unfortunately, I'm behind on this job and will be out in the shop soon.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely day to me!
ReplyDeleteGotta make the best of it! Best solution for a rainy spell is to try & make it cozy.
ReplyDeleteI do that every morning! I look forward to it, I feel connected to the world when I do that!
ReplyDeleteI love what surprises nature has after the rain.
ReplyDeleteOne of the joys of rain - giving the inclination to stay home. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSo glad someone else out there has decided to savor it too.
ReplyDeleteThen we'll be thrilled when the sun shines again.
Gosh, don't I sound like puke- inducing Pollyanna.
So happy to see from the side bar that Jake is doing well.
It sounds like a really great way to spend a couple of hours. I would love rainy or gloomy days all snuggled in with a book to read. And before you know it, time has passed and it could be sunny by the afternoon.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed day.
+ the rain provided two great photo ops - love the contrast in the top one and the detail on the second.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy.
(Oh, forgot to mention how much I liked the print of the Capitol you put up yesterday. )
I like the vegetation growing through the wall photo, and the droplets are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAll of my friends in Oklahoma are complaining about the rain. They've all been posting things like, "Stop already!" "Enough!"
ReplyDeleteI find it amusing because I used to do the same thing and now that I live in Arizona where it barely ever rains, I really miss the rain!
We human beings are rarely satisfied with what we have. *sigh*
Sounds glorious. So much for "Rainy Days and Mondays always get me down."
ReplyDeleteNope! Relaxing with a warm drink and blogs is the best!
ReplyDeleteWell!
ReplyDeleteAt least the pollen count is more bearable.
Enjoy the peace & quiet...and sneeze-free days.
I can't think of a better way to spend a morning. We have had rain out on the left coast since Friday. I have similar feelings. I always savor these last cool, rainy days ere summer pushes me to do more than hibernate with reading, movies and indoor activites.
ReplyDeleteOMG, just as I posted my previous comment, it came across the news that they have just competed the first ever double hand transplant! Can you imagine? God Bless our hands!
ReplyDeleteThank you for coming by my blog. I find your blog very beautiful and inspiring. I love how your pictures reflect different dimensions. A picture within a picture.
ReplyDeleteFor me, a rainy day is a good excuse not to mow the lawn...so what's with that first picture? Is it a tree growing out of a wall?
ReplyDeleteIt's the sidewalk, actually, with some detritus from the storm.
ReplyDeleteIt's been raining here too. I'm doing what you're doing!
ReplyDeleteThose raindrops look so refreshing . . . I can almost taste them. Your morning sounds refreshing, too. Happy Reya Weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe sunshine must be on its way: )
ReplyDeleteI'm actually really enjoying this cool raininess. Count me in!

ReplyDeleteAs for shnonc - that is the sound of Jake snoring.

ReplyDeleteSan Francisco. I love the picture of raindrops. Enjoy the washed air.
I am loving the pattering of the rain on the vegetation outside while I am tapping away here on the keyboard reading about rain all over the world.
ReplyDeleteHappy rainy days
