Holiday Blues

Diagnosis: A serious case of the Mean Reds.

Prescription: Bright blue sky.

Uh oh: No such thing availabe in DC today, for the last few days, or for the next few days.

Consolation (also favorite line from the film Titanic): It'll all be over soon.

Happy solstice, ya'll.

  1. Tell me there aren't angels. Not ten minutes after I pushed the "publish post" button, the clouds parted and the new solstice sun appeared all silvery and fresh.

Then a small miracle: my first client didn't show up so I was able to grab the dog and go for a walk in the sunshine.

    I believe in angels!

  2. Jake looks as if he got tired of all those gray rainy days, too. "What, another puddle? You've *got* to be kidding me!," his look says. It is indeed such a relief to see the sun for a change. I felt better instantly as it came out over the cemetery during the a.m. dog walk.

  3. Happy Solstice to you Reya. It's snowing here in the other Washington - still. Four days now. Sending big fluffy snowy hugs to you and Jake.

  4. My birthday is not blue, Reya. Nope. Nope. I love Jake's expression. Like he had an "accident" and he thinks you're going to blame him for it. Just remember: tonight is the longest night of the year. After tonight, it all flips again.
